Whitening comes first?
If you're considering having your teeth whitened at the same time as having some veneers fitted, the whitening comes first! This is due to the veneers being colour matched to your existing teeth, this way all your teeth will be the same shade once the whitening and veneers have been finished.

White fillingsComposite bonding / Inlays / White fillings

Nowadays more and more fillings can be done using tooth coloured composite materials, and many patients ask to have old visible fillings replaced for cosmetic reasons.

White fillings are done either directly in the mouth, or for larger restorations done indirectly, in the dental laboratory following an impression similar to when a crown is made.

The white fillings can be used to replace and old filling, reshape the tooth or to repair a new cavity

What will happen when I have a white filling?

Your dentist will prepare the tooth in the most conservative way. Since white fillings are bonded to the tooth only minimal tooth reduction is needed to restore the tooth.

Your dentist will then select the best colour combination to match your tooth. The tooth will firstly be cleaned and primed. Then composite is bonded onto the tooth, often building it up in layers to create a natural lifelike appearance. The tooth is then polished smooth and you are ready to bite and use the tooth straight away!
