Private Dental Treatments

At the Wensleydale Dental Practice we offer a full range of Private General dentistry for the whole family to orthodontics, implants and cosmetic dental treatments.

Amongst these are crowns, bridges, dental implants, dentures, tooth coloured fillings, tooth whitening and tooth alignment using the latest removable technology.

All general family dentistry is available privately either as fee-per-item (pay as you) or as a Denplan patient. As a NHS patient you can also choose to have treatment carried out privately, for instance for cosmetic reasons.

To restore your smile we can look at individual teeth you are not happy with or a full smile `makeover` to get the smile you want!

In situations where aesthetics are of importance i.e front teeth, we can use metal free, all ceramic (porcelain) crowns and bridges which are colour matched to your existing teeth. The Porcelain product we use is extremely strong, highly aesthetic and natural looking whilst at the same time also friendly to the soft tissues. This minimizes the 'dark neck' sometimes seen on traditional types of crowns

In some instances it is essential to make use of cad cam created crowns. Whilst these are more expensive than Porcelain, they do offer some advantages in difficult or aesthetically important positions. We use the well-known LAVA crown system to make high strength, precision crowns. LAVA tm crowns and bridges are made from a translucent framework of high-strength zirconium oxide. This means the metal free crowns can be used in almost any situation, creating an excellent fit and aesthetic results.

Having the Huntingdon Dental Laboratory on site allows us to to make private cosmetic dentures. We now make valplast flexible dentures that are ideal for partial dentures, small side plates or as a more comfortable option than traditional acrylic. Lightweight and practically invisible these dentures are wonderfully comfortable to wear due to the lack of metal clasps.

We also make cosmetic dentures using the Schottlander Enigma and Natura systems. The Natura is our standard private denture, using a very natural looking, hard wearing denture tooth and a contoured high impact strong acrylic. For more demanding situations we can use the Enigma denture, this being the more natural looking, harder wearing option. The Enigma uses a highly aesthetic denture tooth, high impact acrylic and full contouring of the gum work. The gum section on the denture will also be colour matched to the natural gum.
