Anti Snoring DeviceSilensor anti snoring device

Do you feel tired when waking up? Do you snore noisily? Do you wake up with headaches? Do you have problems concentrating or suddenly get overcome with tirednss? Does your breathing stop when you are asleep?

If you answered Yes to any of thse questiuons you may be suffering with an obstructed airway and should ask your dentist if a Silensor is suitable!

Snoring is a common problem for approximately 40% of the population, even higher the older we get. When we are asleep the muscle tone decreases and this limits the space at the back of the throat making the soft tissue vibrate causing noisy snoring. Apart from possibly keeping your family awake, it is a real medical problem since it can, if severe, cause sleep apnea.

This is a type of respiratory arrest during sleeping that can cause serious vascular problems, affect circulation of oxygen in the blood and cause poor sleep and tiredness. To determine if you are suffering from sleep apnea you can be referred to a sleeplaboratoty for tests.

The dentist can fit you with a Silensor device to relieve the restriction on the airway. Clinical tests have shown that the device reduces snoring in 90% of cases, and reduces the risk of sleep apnea.

The silensor consits of two transparent splints, one for each jaw. These are held in place by 2 connectors that guide the lower jaw into a position where the airway space is increased, thereby comfortably reducing the snoring.  If you snore or think you may be at risk of sleep apnea let your dentist know and he will advice you.
